New Resource
The Prevention Institute has updated their website with a section for Postpartum Self Care. Here is a clip:
'The postpartum period, often referred to as “fourth trimester”, is a time of significant change for new parents. It can include both the joy of welcoming a baby and the physical and emotional challenges of recovery and adjustment. While much attention is often given to the baby, it is important to remember that caring for oneself is just as important. Prioritizing personal well-being during this time aids in healing, recovery, maintaining mental health, and ultimately becoming the best parent possible. The following self-care tips are designed to support new parents through the postpartum journey.'

BFC flow sheet
The BFC flow sheet has been updated. Now that most people are charting on the computer, it doesn't make sense to leave half the page blank. A space for the client's PHN has also been added to avoid a mix up if we have a name alert in there as well. Feel free to use it and offer feedback for any additional changes you think might be good.
1. Driving recommendations post C-section:
There have been some recent discussions surrounding safe guidelines for driving after a C-section. The current recommendation is that clients should not be driving post C-section until they are pain-free. They should only get behind the wheel when they are able to quickly react without pain.
