💡 What it is:
A NEW Mepilex dressing that releases ionic silver to help reduce the risk of post-operative wound infection
Approved for up to 7 days of continuous use
Use at the discretion of the surgeon based on patient risk factors
💡 Use: For patients at risk of post-operative infection who do not have a large pannus.
Potential Indications for use:
- Chorioamnionitis
- Anemia / Hypertension / Diabetes
- Urgent or emergent C-section
- Limited prenatal care
- Excessive blood loss
- Low socioeconomic status
- PROM / PPROM
- Prolonged surgery
- Obesity (BMI < 40, mild pannus)

Guidelines to support the Baby
Friendly Initiative and Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding are now available. This set of guidelines has been developed
for healthcare providers to supplement existing materials including CS-CS-0009
Baby-Friendly Infant Feeding and CS-CP-0031
Baby-Friendly Infant Feeding – Direct Care of the Healthy-Term Infant.
These new guidelines are evidence-based and aim to provide healthcare
providers with the knowledge needed to support families with infant feeding. All
new and existing resources can be found on SHA intranet Maternal/Children’s
Health Resources in the Baby-Friendly
Initiative- Clinical Resources tile. These guidelines
include health-care provider guidelines for: · Supplementation
and Alternative Feeding Methods of a Healthy Term Infant (CS-G-0409) · Nipples
